Midwife-led Care
A midwife is a skilled and compassionate healthcare professional specializing in supporting women throughout the childbirth journey. Trained to provide personalized care, a midwife assists with antenatal education, labour, birth and postnatal care, ensuring a holistic and empowering experience for expectant mothers.
Network One Maternity prioritizes a woman-centered approach, fostering a nurturing environment for the entire maternity process.
Your Maternity Care
Antenatal Care
At Network One Maternity, we provide a thorough and comprehensive approach to care. Our process includes detailed history-taking, skilled interpretation of pathological data, and a comprehensive assessment of mother's well-being through physical examinations and essential screenings. We use diagnostic tools like abdominal palpation, foetal Doppler, and ultrasound scans to assess fetal development. Specimen collection for Group B Streptococcus occurs at 37 weeks. Addressing potential issues during the antenatal period involves health education and electronic prescriptions by our midwives. Our care extends beyond the physical, offering psychological and wellness support for a holistic experience.
Labour and Birth
Midwives, extensively trained in natural childbirth, view pregnancy as a healthy, empowering journey. They monitor maternal and foetal well-being during birth, offering emotional support and advocating for the mother's preferences. Midwives guide pain management, labour techniques, and communicate effectively. In emergencies, they act promptly. If a caesarean section is needed, the OBGYN and medical team are ready at the operating theatre. The midwife's role ensures a positive, woman-centered birthing experience. It is the role of the midwives to ensure that you are as well prepared - physically, emotionally and spiritually- as is possible, and as well supported as you wish to be.
Postnatal Care
Our postnatal care is designed to provide a thorough assessment of both maternal and infant well-being. Maternal wellness is meticulously evaluated, including physical health, mental state, and vital indicators such as blood pressure, temperature, weight, urine, glucose monitoring, and breastfeeding support. Infant assessment involves evaluating responses, feeding patterns, and addressing issues like oral thrush, gut health, cord care, elimination, nappy rash, and weight. To address postnatal challenges, we offer health education and electronic prescriptions. We emphasize patience and reassurance, allowing time for recovery. Our WhatsApp support group is available for any concerns or questions post-birth.
“Birth is an opportunity to transcend. To rise above what we are accustomed to, reach deeper inside ourselves than we are familiar with, and to see not only what we are truly made of, but the strength we can access in and through birth.” ~ Marcie Macari
