Dr. Howard P. Manyonga: Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Dr. Howard P. Manyonga, a distinguished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, spearheads a groundbreaking team maternity model in South Africa. His unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence, coupled with a reputation for utmost professionalism and credibility, reflects a remarkable career. A dedicated family man, avid reader, and devoted road runner, he harbours no regrets in his relentless pursuit of healthcare innovation.

Marié van Heerden: Midwife Specialist

Marié van Heerden is a Specialist Midwife with 27 years of extensive experience. She earned her Diploma in Advanced Midwifery & Neonatal Nursing Science, followed by a Further National Higher Diploma in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing Science. She completed a Master’s degree in Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing, focusing on clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction in midwife-led care. Marié's passion lies in maternal care, the delivery of babies, and supporting new mothers and their infants on their parenting journey. She has played a pivotal role in the design and implementation of various Midwife-Led programmes. A member of the Private Practicing Midwife Alliance (PPMA) in Gauteng, and actively contributes to the advancement of midwifery practices. Her commitment to education and training is encapsulated in her motto: “EDUCATE THE NATION & TRAIN THE MIDWIVES.”

Tinyiko Chauke: Clinical Associate

Tinyiko Chauke, a dedicated Clinical Associate, is driven by a passion for healthcare and an unwavering commitment to delivering excellent patient care. Graduating with distinction from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2022 with a Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice, Tinyiko secured the top position in the class, earning accolades such as the Andrew Truscott Memorial Prize, BCMP III Prize, and Health Graduates Association Medal Runner Up. Currently employed at Network One Health, Tinyiko adeptly combines clinical administration with patient consultations, showcasing a diverse skill set honed through rigorous medical training. With a keen focus on quality healthcare and patient outcomes, Tinyiko is enthusiastic about contributing meaningfully to the healthcare sector and anticipates continued professional growth.

Lindokuhle Tshabalala: Midwife

Passionate about empowering individuals in health and wellness, Lindokuhle aligns her calling with midwifery, a central element of her life's purpose dedicated to healing her community. Lindokuhle's journey began at 19, training at Chris Hani Baragwanath Nursing College, where she assisted in deliveries and qualified as a nurse in 2016. Fulfilling her community service as a Midwife at South Rand Hospital, she later worked as a Well-Baby Nursing Sister in a large pharmacy. Eager to holistically serve women and families, Lindokuhle initiated an independent practice, cherishing every stage. Discovering NetworkOne Maternity Program during her professional growth, Lindokuhle embraced shared values, seizing an opportunity to expand her service to more women. Her experience has been marked by witnessing women achieve healthy birthing goals, and she eagerly anticipates creating further meaningful memories in the future.

Diana Twala: Administrator

With over six years of administrative experience, Diana brings a wealth of expertise to the Network One Health team. She has been an integral part of the organization since its inception three years ago. Possessing a keen eye for detail and a commitment to efficiency, Diana is dedicated to ensuring smooth operations and streamlined processes within the administrative domain. Beyond her administrative skills, she embodies a collaborative spirit and a proactive approach, contributing to the organization's mission with enthusiasm and effectiveness.

Nonhlanhla Naku: Admin and Client Relations

With a BA in Public Administration and Industrial and Organisational Psychology, the individual combines academic knowledge with practical expertise to enhance administrative processes and build robust client relationships.

Jacky Dawson: Sonographer

"Inside Out Scans" commits to a family-friendly environment, prioritizing client engagement across all age groups through a comprehensive referral structure. Jacky, a mother of two, discovered her passion for babies within her Psychology journey, leading her to specialize in Obstetric Ultrasound. Holding a BA in Psychology and a BRad Radiography degree, she garnered diverse ultrasound experience in government and private settings. Registered with key healthcare bodies, including The Health Professional Council of South Africa, Jacky possesses a BTech Ultrasound degree. Her expertise encompasses Pregnancy ultrasounds, NT Down Syndrome and Anomaly scans, and 4D facial feature capture. With a focus on Pediatrics, Jacky is an indispensable asset within the NetworkOne Health Maternity team, exemplifying passion and dedication in aiding others.

Beverley Chigwanda Kambarami: Lead Doula

Beverley, a qualified Birthing and Postpartum Doula with expertise as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, brings over four years of birthing experience. Having served as a Birth Doula and volunteered at Hillbrow Maternity Obstetric Unit and Far East Rand Hospital, Beverley extends her support to mothers at Network One Health. Operating her private practice, Yobirthfriend, she engages with each mother as a friend, fostering openness and familiarity in the birthing room. Bev is a graduated Mamandla Fellow advocating against Obstetric Violence. She also facilitates a virtual support group for Expectant and New Mom on a mental health App: Panda _October Awareness Month. She is also a member of WOMBS and DOSA, accredited by the International Childbirth Educators Association, Bev significantly contributes to the maternal care community, emphasizing her commitment to empowering mothers in their childbirth journey.

Lisa Houghton: Doula

In Johannesburg, South Africa, Lisa, a devoted doula, fervently advocates for pregnant moms, births, and babies. Having undergone three natural births and a unique surrogate experience, she cultivated a deep love for pregnancy and birth. Lisa's expertise transcends conventional practices, embracing alternative health modalities like reflexology, reiki, hypnotherapy, breathwork, and energy work. As a SCIO (Biofeedback) practitioner well-versed in anatomy and physiology, she adopts a holistic approach, specializing in pre and postnatal support and valuable breastfeeding assistance. Lisa, studying Sacred Birth with Dr. Gauri Lowe and engaging in postural work for babies, seamlessly incorporates a wealth of knowledge, fostering a serene atmosphere in the birthing room. Her exploration into babies' microbiomes underscores the importance of skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding, passionately guiding new parents to achieve optimal microbiota based on insights gained from her profound journey with "Microbirth" by Toni Harman and Alex Wakeford.

Danielle Kavonic: Doula

Danielle Kavonic, a dedicated birth doula, is passionate about empowering women to have amazing birth experiences and creating a calm, safe space for babies to enter the world.

The Integrated Maternity Team (IMT) Model

Our core is the Integrated Maternity Team (IMT). This team includes providers from primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare levels, all brought together through formal service agreements.

 

Supporting the IMT is Network One Health (Pty) Ltd, a health management company providing the necessary support, access to medical equipment, and digital IT solutions for seamless teamwork, transcending traditional professional or organizational boundaries. 

 

Births happen at Multidisciplinary Birth Centers (MUBCs), which can either be standalone facilities or are seamlessly incorporated within hospital premises. Skilled midwives carefully  oversee the entirety of the birthing process.
